Recently, HPI, in collaboration with the Wartburg Vocational and Technical College in South Africa, has successfully registered the “South Africa Zhang Heng College” with the Education Department of Henan Province, laying a solid foundation for future extensive cooperation.
Since 2018, the two institutes have engaged in in-depth discussions on establishing a training base in South Africa, conducting overseas education programs, and recruiting South African students. After multiple communications, exchanges, and visits, the “South Africa Zhang Heng College,” affiliated with HPI, was officially established in January 2020 at Wartburg Vocational and Technical College.
Relying on the “South Africa Zhang Heng College,” HPI has enrolled 90 language learners from African countries such as Ethiopia, Sudan, and South Africa, 11 academic exchange students and 89 skill-based exchange students from Mozambique, South Africa, and other African nations. HPI has also conducted three training sessions for employees of Chinese enterprises involved in construction projects and electromechanical integration in Angola, Uganda, and other countries as part of their “going global” initiatives, collectively training 71 individuals.
The “South Africa Zhang Heng College” has provided our faculty and students with a broader international exchange platform and offers more learning and development opportunities for students from South Africa and other African countries. HPI will continue to expand exchanges and cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, continuously exploring and improving corresponding educational and talent development models, which aims to promote the internationalization of HPI and better serve the Belt and Road Initiative.
