On January 29, 2024, the School of Construction Engineering conducted an international exchange and training event in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Project Department of China Henan International Corporation Group Co., Ltd. This training session was led by Professor Liu Zi from the School of Construction Engineering, with Professor Cao Xia as the moderator.
The project is the Sierra Leone section of a 64-kilometer regional integration road project in Africa, specifically the LOTI section of the Kailahun-Koindu-Guinea border road project. The implementation of the project will further expand the coverage of Sierra Leone’s national road network, greatly improving traffic conditions along the route and effectively promoting social integration and economic development.
The method of “virtual simulation + bilingual (Chinese and foreign languages) + online remote” was adopted in this training, which enhanced the safety awareness and safety prevention levels of foreign employees in key construction phases of the overseas projects and further deepened the international exchange and cooperation between the School of Construction Engineering and “going global” enterprises. The School of Construction Engineering will continue to adhere to the development path of “going overseas with enterprises”, further deepening cooperation with “go global” enterprises. Consequently, it will expand the breadth and depth of international cooperation and build a school-enterprise cooperation community that serves the Belt and Road Initiative, collectively creating a brilliant showcase for Chinese construction achievements.
