To further strengthen exchanges among international students from countries along the “Belt and Road,” create opportunities for exchange, sharing, and mutual learning among students, and establish the brand “Studying at Polytechnic Institutes of Henan”, on April 22, 2024, the School of Culture, Tourism, and International Education invited international student SABO MUHAMMAD from Nanyang Institute of Technology to HPI for study experience exchange and sharing. Li Shiquan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Culture, Tourism, and International Education, Deputy Dean Hu Lingling, Deputy Secretary Zheng Wei, and relevant teachers participated in this event.
SABO MUHAMMAD shared his feelings about learning Chinese: “When I first came to China to study, I couldn’t do anything and relied on translation apps on my phone every time, which was very inconvenient. Only after I mastered Chinese did I truly understand Chinese culture and feel the warmth of the Chinese people. I recommend that everyone learns Chinese well and makes more Chinese friends.” Many international students deeply resonated with his words, sharing their own experiences and feelings about learning traditional Chinese culture, preparing for the HSK exam, planning their career paths, and participating in various school activities. The atmosphere on-site was enthusiastic and vibrant. Through their exchanges and sharing, students gradually realized that mastering the Chinese language and actively participating in various activities are essential steps towards a comprehensive understanding of China’s current national conditions and culture.
Secretary Li Shiquan concluded by summarizing that this university-level international student exchange activity has established a bridge for communication among international friends, created a platform for international students to learn and share together, motivated international students to strive for academic excellence, encouraged them to reflect on their university lives, make solid plans, and provided support for nurturing high-quality international students in China.
